3 food groups for a balanced diet
We are all dependent on food for our survival. These food should be balanced for it to Nourish our bodies. We need nutrients found in different kinds of food which are useful for every part of the body. So as you eat, ensure that the food is balanced. The 3 food groups are:
1 Body building: These are mostly protein in nature. They are either plants based or animal based. The help to repair worn out body tissues and regenerate new body cells. They include, meat of all kinds, Milk, peas, nuts, eggs, millet, beans, etc.
2 Energy giving: they give us energy so that we can perform our daily duties. They also provide us with fat which keeps us warm, Examples include rice. Potatoes, oil, bread, ugali, cassava, arrowroot etc.
3 Protective food: they consist of vitamins and mineral salts. They protect the body against diseases and infections by boosting it’s immune system. They include fruits, vegetables, water and nuts.
It is good to eat well and have the knowledge and information of the kind of nutrients to consume and the amounts needed. As you serve food to your family, it should be balanced, nutritious and attractive. Make meal time a fun time

Kind words are very important in our daily lives. They help us to live well with other people in the society. Kind words help us to practice courtesy when dealing with other people in the society. It enables us to get help easily. They also help us to feel good with ourselves. These words include:
1 Sorry: it is a word of apology. It means that we have made a mistake and we are remorseful and need mercy. We seek forgiveness. The deed was not intentional.
2 Thank you: it is a word of appreciation. We approve of the favor bestowed upon us by someone. We feel good about the kindness offered to us.
3 Please: it’s a word of request. We are asking for a favor from someone politely. It’s a word that shows humility. We are imploring someone to do something.
4 May I: it’s a polite request. We are seeking permission or a favor. For example, may I come in? May I request…etc. it’s like asking someone if they are willing to do something for us.
5 Excuse me. We are politely asking for attention. For example, “excuse me, may I pass “. “Excuse me, I nee you here”.
6 kindly: it’s a humble request for someone to do something for you. For example, kindly pass by the supermarket on your way home. It could also be used in official matters for example. Kindly pass my regards to… Kindly attach your documents…etc.
So the next time you need someone to do something for you, try using these kind words and see how easy and quickly it will be offered to you. It should be an everyday affair. Make it your habit. It shows how well cultured and well mannered you are.
8 Tennets of healthy living
All of us need a a healthy life so that we can function well. Without proper health, we become sick. When we are healthy we are wealthy. our body is like a machine that has to be serviced or maintained constantly without fail. Healthy living consists of:
1 Nutrition: it consists of nutrients that we get from food. Nutrition helps to repair our worn out tissues, gives us energy and protects us from diseases by boosting our immune system.
2 Body exercise These are activities we do physically. We walk, run, jog etc to be healthy and for proper blood circulation. It also helps to control body weight and boost our self esteem. It also improves our mood.
3 Sunshine: It is good for the skin. It provides vitamin d. It is also good for the bones and muscles and prevents rickets.
4 proper rest and sleep: it helps to rejuvenate the body. It also helps to create new body cells. It gives us good mood and it helps us to function well in our day to day living.
5 emotional management: These are feelings.
we control fear, manage anger, embrace surprise, accept compliment etc. This helps us to live a balanced life. It also helps us to accept ourselves and others and situations as they come.
6 Air Breathing fresh air is good for our lungs. It helps to protect us from respiratory informations. Breath is life. We inhale and exhale every second of our lives.
7 water Water is life. We drink water. We also shower, cook, shower etc it rejuvenate s our body. Hydrates the skin etc
8 God: trust him in all you do. Tell him your need, wants, rell him your joys and pains. He knows you and he will help you.
